Baking with Shama

Thanksgiving Eve the girls went over to bake with Shama. They came up with some delicious cookies and fudge for Thanksgiving dessert.

Let the festivities begin...

Nana is with us for Thanksgiving

Uncle Jon joined us too. Cj took him for a ride; Jon couldn't stop smiling :)

Fun and games

Volleyball at the church

We worked off the turkey with some volleyball fun. Boys vs. girls. Brian got some more stuffing he didn't ask for by his wife. Yes-at the NET baby. It was a glorious moment for myself. Sorry honey.

While at the church, Shama invited the Brownsville Ward missionaries over and loaded them up with lots of yummy food and desserts. She is such a giving girl, she took care of all of us today. Happy Thanksgiving.

Happy Thanksgiving

What we're really talking about is a wonderful day set aside on the fourth day of November when no one diets. I mean, why else would they call it Thanksgiving?
-Erma Bombeck

Our thanks to our friend and photographer, Shama Bartlett for taking our family photos last weekend. Here are a couple of our favorites poses. Chase insisted that our dog, Dawson be included. Didn't he smile so sweet? We have a tradition of taking the pics out in our yard by our favorite tree (named seven fingers). Only this year it has turned into a tree house in the making, courtesy of Dad.

We are looking forward to a visit from Nana(my Mom), for Thanksgiving this year. The kids are awaiting all of the yummy food. "Small cheer and great welcome makes a merry feast" -William Shakespeare

A Singing Sunday

I am so proud of my girls. Count your blessings, name them one by one; Courtney, Ashlyn, Baylee and I sang in sacrament meeting today. It was a beautiful medley of “Teach me to Walk in the Light” and “In this Very Room.” The girls’ piano teacher, Rose Stanek accompanied us. They just love her! Their hard work was all worth it today, they were beaming. Thank heaven for little girls, especially mine.

Opening night for Twilight

Getting ready for "Twilight"

For my birthday back in May, my friend Stephanie gave me the book "Twilight," by Stephenie Meyer. Courtney and I have taken turns reading every word of the book to each other. We finally finished last week in time for the movie. So, we had a special date to the movie, just the two of us. We have been counting down the days...for Bella and Edward on the big screen.

Let the show begin...

We loved the movie!!!

It was so worth the wait. Even if you haven't read the book yet, you have to see the movie. It was awesome!!! Courtney and I loved it and want to see it again and again.

Up on the roof...

Brian was pressure washing our roof today. So, he decided to scare me to death. He called me outside, and this is what I found. Everyone, up on the roof. It's pretty high, steep, wet, and not to mention getting dark. They were having a blast together-so I took a few pictures.

The song "Up on the roof" comes to mind...
On the roof, it's peaceful as can be
And there the world below can't bother me
Let me tell you now

When I come home feelin' tired and beat
I go up where the air is fresh and sweet (up on the roof)
Let's go up on the roof (up on the roof)

At night the stars put on a show for free
And, darling, you can share it all with me

Everything is all right (up on the roof)

Birds of a feather will gather together

What a beautiful November day for a little paint ball action. Chase and Brian have been looking forward to paintballing together for a while now. What an opportunity to play with a lot of your friends.

Iron Men soccer team

Coach Mike presenting Chase with his soccer trophy. Half of the season, Chase had a cast on his arm from a heely accident. He was able to play a few games with the cast on and played the last two games a lighter Iron Man. :)
Let the paint war begin!!! The boys had their safety guidelines chat and they were excited to start the games.

Jared, Chase and Andy

Chase and Brian getting pelted by paintballs, "I surrender!"

"I'm never paintballing again!!!"

Chase's excitement for paintball quickly changed when he got hit in the chin in the first game. He was was ready to pull all his gear and paint soaked hoody off and never paint ball again, ever! He was spitting up paint and crying...poor boy. (Sorry Mom, you wouldn't have enjoyed this moment)Luckily he changed his mind later and made another go at it.
